Audition Intensives
@ Sizzling Latin Dance Studio in Lafayette

7/20 – 7/22

Beginner Level (ages 10 – 15) 9am – 1pm
Advanced Level (director placement only) 1-5pm

Beginner Level

The Beginner Level is perfect for performers new to musical theatre or those looking to strengthen foundational skills in singing, dancing, and acting—while learning what it truly takes to walk into a musical theatre audition.

Students will learn essential vocal and dance techniques, how to tell a story through movement and song, and how to bring authenticity and clarity to their performances. The intensive also covers the practical side of auditioning, including how to find and properly cut audition material and how to work effectively with a live accompanist.

Throughout the three days, students will apply what they learn in mock audition–style settings, culminating in a final mock audition that simulates a professional audition experience and provides individualized feedback.

Advanced Level

The Advanced Level is designed for experienced performers ready to refine their audition package and elevate their professional presentation. Students will arrive with their own 16–32 bar contrasting songs, which will be individually coached to strengthen storytelling, musicality, and audition clarity.

Advanced students will also learn how to record and self-tape a complete audition package, gaining essential skills for today’s professional audition landscape. As part of the intensive, a professional photographer will be brought in to take high-quality headshots, ensuring students leave with updated materials.

In addition, the advanced intensive will include an industry showcase for local agents, casting directors and industry professionals, giving students the opportunity to gain insight into the expectations of the professional theatre world.
